I believe in transparency.  I am pretty much an open book.  It occurred to me that as people visit this site and perhaps begin to interact, since I'm kind of the host of this page, it might be a good thing for everyone to know positions that I hold, hopefully giving some insight to the thoughts presented.  So, here goes:

Abortion: I am strongly, adamantly, and unapologetically pro-life.  I hold the position that abortion should be illegal except to prevent the certain death of the mother.  I believe that a “convenience abortion” is the equivalent of murder.

Civil Rights: Everyone should enjoy the same rights.  No one individual, or group of individuals, should be afforded extra rights or special concessions.  Neither should any one individual, or group of individuals be denied Constitutionally guaranteed rights.

Crime & Punishment: I support law enforcement and stand behind our police officers.  I am generally, but not totally, opposed to the death penalty.  I also favor expanding the use of life without parole.

Energy & Oil: I am convinced that we should be more aggressive in developing energy alternatives to the petroleum industry.  Until that time, for oil, we need to never be dependent on countries that hate us.

Environment:  We have a sacred obligation to take care of the world we live in, and we should do just that.  But it must be done in a reasonable, responsible manner.  It is possible to be a good steward of the environment without going batcrap crazy with over-regulating everything.

Family:  Family is, and always has been, the backbone of our society.  That has been truth from day one.  It's no secret that as the sanctity of the family has suffered, society suffers in direct proportion.  Marriage should be between one man and one woman.

Foreign Policy: I’m going to quote our president, “America First!”. 'Nuff said.

Gun Control:  I don’t know why this is even a discussion.  The Second Amendment is not ambiguous at all.  My definition of gun control is to hold it with two hands.

Health Care:  Here I am breaking with my otherwise pretty conservative positions.  If I thought it could work I would love to see a single-payer universal health care system in place for all American citizens.  No one life should be determined to be of greater value than another, and that is exactly what happens, based on insurance policies and bank accounts.  Perhaps our greatest sin as a nation is that we allowed health care to become a marketplace commodity in the first place.

Homeland Security:  If it was left to me, I’d put in place a very strict travel ban, probably stricter than any proposed by President Trump.  I believe we have the responsibility to do anything and everything necessary to keep our homeland secure, and our citizens as safe and secure as possible.  I fully support our president’s efforts to erect a wall.  Personally, I don’t care if it’s brick and concrete with barbed wire; I don't care if it's a chain link fence, or even a virtual wall that employs the use of camera equipped drones, or the implementation of effective closed-circuit television cameras, along with whatever manpower is required to patrol our border.  For crying out loud, I wouldn’t care if it was a super-sized moat filled with hungry crocodiles, so long as it stops the bad guys from reaching our lands.

Immigration: I would like to see all immigration of any kind come to a screeching halt until our entire immigration process is overhauled.  All immigration of adult-aged people should be based solely on individual merit.  For example, the acceptance of Mr XYZ to immigrate to America should mean only that Mr XYZ is admitted, along with his wife and under-aged children (immediate family only).  For now, let’s just recognize that our immigration policy is broken beyond repair and needs an overhaul.  That being said, I do support DACA.  Childhood arrivals should not suffer the consequences for violations committed by their parents.  My desire to see the wall constructed is not to send the message."Stay Out", but "Use the Door."

Social Security: Must be protected and maintained at levels at least where they are now.

Tax Reform:  I would like to see the tax system simplified.  I am opposed to a flat tax or a national sales tax, while favoring a progressive rate tax system, but without loopholes.  Deductions only for charitable contributions and interest on homes.

Welfare:  Only those truly unable to work a job should receive welfare benefits without having done some type of work to earn them.  Welfare must evolve into workfare.  Until that happens, welfare applicants should be tested for drugs, not unlike most job applicants are. If a taxpayer has to pass a drug test to get a job so he can work to pay the taxes that go to welfare, the guy getting that welfare money should have to pass a drug test to receive it.  Any and all welfare benefits should be forfeited upon conviction of any felony or multiple misdemeanors.

This is not, and was not intended to be, an all-inclusive list of discussion topics, but a starting point.  Let’s watch things grow together.

Be good to one another, and God Bless.
